Sunday nights message from Bro. John

Bro. John's message Sunday night was really good. It was about being an encourager and he used Barnabas as the illustration. Barnabas' real name was Joseph but he was given the nickname of Barnabas which means "encourager" . Barnabas was always a friend, there to pull a friend up with a kind word or deed. He said that we all need to be like Barnabas!

I have several Barnabas' in my life...and I thank God for them each day!

Wow! What a great class! Very fun and always a treat to take a class by Virginia! She has such great ideas and I love the shabby sheik but I am afraid to step out of the box unless I have some guidance! Meet some new people which is always fun! Here is what I did in the class...

I used the chorus from Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion from the movie Up Close and Personal but made it present tense.

Pumpkin Patch Express!!! LOL

Well, let me give the run down on the weekend! Ok as I stated earlier we were taking a "train ride" to the pumpkin patch on saturday, right? The day started off with me taking pictures of James and Emily's sweet baby boy Matthew...great shoot! I am getting the pictures back today, can't wait to see them! Anyway Jess arrived at the house at 10:50 and we took off to pick up Valerie and Ashley. I remembered I had left the directions that Lisa gave me at home, but thought I remembered so did not go back for them. Big Mistake!! For some reason I got it in my mind that we were going to Helena...so we drove around Helena for about an hour looking for the Pumpkin Patch Express! After the 3rd time stopping and asking for directions a light bulb went off and I remember we were to be in Calera!! (All this time Jess is wondering why we are in Helena! She knew it was Calera!) So we missed the 1:00 ride on the train by the time we got to the right city! LOL! So at 3 pm we boarded the train. The ride was fun, but the Pumpkin Patch was a JOKE!!! It was not even a real pumpkin patch! It was just an open area with pumpkin's every where for you to choose from! I was so disappointed! We made pictures at joked around then went by Walmart on the way home and bought our pumpkins...cheaper!
After we got home we ate chili, grilled cheeses and brownies, then we started carving the pumpkins. It was fun we had three "virgin" pumpkin carvers...Ashley, Valerie and me! Cleaning out the pumpkins were gross!

All five of them turned out pretty cool.


Sunday was very nice...great day at church, Donald got home around 4ish from the deepsea fishing trip. The fishing was a bust he said he caught two fish and about 15 sharks. He said that he had been on better trips! At least this one was free!

This is our Buckie Boy, he will be Buckie the Buccaneer for Halloween on Tuesday!
