College and Career Picture

Last Wednesday we had 19 in our College and Career class!! Last night we had 12, but several out of town, moving back to school and out sick. We are having game night and a cook out on the 12th...gonna play some corn hole and eat some burgers! Will have pictures to post of us playing games!

Chicago Trip

Just a few pictures from our last trip to Chicago over Father's day weekend. Donald, Joseph and all of the Diffy's left on Wednesday night, and I flew out on Friday evening. The reason for going was Carmen's 75th birthday celebrations. They had her bday party on Friday night with a big family cook-out, and the surprise bash put on by her family on Saturday night. It was fun to get all dressed up! My boys were so handsome in their suits! The evening consisted of a wonderful meal, music with a DJ, dancing, and a Mariachi Band (which is Carmen's favorite).

Prayers for Josh

Our Godson, Josh Baker has left for Afghanistan for 400 days, please pray for his safety as well as his group. Family and friends gathered at their home in north Alabama for all of us to see and love on Josh before he left for New Jersey on June 26Th. We drove up to the airport in Huntsville to see him, it was a very emotional time for all of us as we watched him go through the gate. This war has always been emotional and many prayers for our military have went up from our family, but until it actually touches someone you love I don't believe we even truly imagine what other families are going through. Please pray for his safety and health during these 400 days, as well as all of our other military men and women who have serving our country.

Beach 2009

We took a short trip to Destin over Memorial Day weekend. It rained a lot so we went bowling, played pool at the Hurricane Lanes, ate a lot of seafood (except Alicia she ate a lot of chicken). Took Alicia crabbing with a flashlight(she did not like this southern beach tradition at all!) The red flag was out the whole time we were there, but the surfers were out anyway.

April & May Happenings

What a busy couple of months! Beginning at the bottom...Jessica Henson and I went to the Chocolate Biscuit and painted the "Stained Glass Cross."

My brother, Chuck turned the big 40 on April 13th, Chelle suprised him with a party on the 18th of April. Before we went to North Alabama we attended the 45th Annual Mustang Show at Barber Motor sports with the Diffy's, this only fuel Joseph's obession with Mustangs!

I went to Pelhem to Sips 'n Strokes and painted another cross!

Treva, Paula and I went to Wicked which was amazing, I will definitely see it again.

We went with the Diffy's to see Dixie Lonegate, not you orindary Tupperware party! It was hilarious! If it comes back it is a must to see!

Mother's day was great, Joseph and I went to Sips 'n Strokes. Then back to GiGi's to see her and for her to open her gift. Lucy was sick and we were not able to see her, if fact we still have her present.

Kevin turned 1! Mark turned 4!

Relay for Life held at the Sumiton park, Loretta's bank hand a both and we helped out.

Last but not least! My sweet Chrissi turned 20!

Febuary-April Happenings

Starting at the bottom of the pictures: Joseph turned 21 on 2/9 and Ruthie turned 94 on 2/11 we celebrated at home on 2/7 with family and friends. On Joseph's bday we went to Ichiban's with the Diffy's and Treva. Next came my bday we went to the Preserve in Hoover and walked around and saw the waterfalls and rock formations and took lots of pictures. We had lunch at Bogues and dinner at the Olive Garden. It was a great bday! Next is a couple of pictures from the Hammond photoshoot, Chrissi is just a joy and her mom is a wonderful friend. Just a few pictures of the snow. Yes, I went turkey Hunting with donald in April! It was actually fun! I never got to see a male turkey strut his stuff, but I saw plenty of hens, red headed woodpeckers and squirrls that I believe were on steriods. I can't wait to next year!
