A quick catch up...

Since the last time I blogged it has been crazy at the Vodosia's residence!! Donald continues working the night shift and lots of overtime, hunting when he can and remodeling the house. He finished the floor in our utility room now all we need is the trim and some touch ups to the paint. He put in a floor to ceiling cabinet and a short cabinet and we decided on one more floor to ceiling cabinet to put my larger appliances (toaster oven, large Tupperware containers etc in) this will give me more room in the kitchen. He has started back in the choir and church and it does my heart good to see him using the talent God gave him.

Joseph continues to work and go to school. He and Alicia are still together and just as cute as ever. (going to the Botanical Gardens tomorrow for a photo shoot). He no longer plays the bass in the youth band, we are starting a new college and career class up for his age group on Wednesday nights so they can transition out of the youth. I am excited about this, Emily Copeland is going to be their teacher. He finally finish building his computer and I believe he has all the bells and whistle you can put on a computer in it or on it!

I continue to work in 3 departments at TCH...with CHIPS and the SANE program really being where my heart is. I still enjoy Medicaid Screening because this group of friends and the work help me with my sanity! I am very blessed to work in 3 departments with wonderful, caring people that work as a team together. I am still scrapbooking and taking pictures as much as I can with my crazy work schedule. With the remodeling of the house, work, church and just being a wife and mom keep me hopping.

We are planning to go to Chicago with Alicia and her family this summer. That is going to be so cool...the Taste of Chicago will be going on and they tell me that is a blast! Plus getting to see all of the major attractions of Chicago is an added benefit. Buck will be staying with GiGi for the week and she will be taking care of Sugar, Dixie and Maggie for us. I hope to get a beach trip in there with the boys as well. I am going back to the Shrimp Festival with the Bunco girls again this year, but that is in October!

Joseph turned 20 on Saturday!

Well our sweet baby boy is now 20 years old as of 3:12 pm yesterday. He is such a remarkable young man and we just love him to pieces! I took lots of pictures will post monday or tuesday. His sweet girlfriend, Alicia made him an awesome Houndstooth "Bear Bryant" hat cake. It was 5 layers of the most delicious strawberry cake that had buttercream icing in black/white, the icing of the cake took 4 hours!

Happy New Year!! I know it is February! LOL

Wow! Where has the time gone since my last post! I am really way behind in posting and putting up pictures from Christmas, Ski Trip, New Years! We finally have high speed at home now!! Whoo-hoo so I will be able to post more. Will do my best to get pictures up this weekend!

All is well with the family, Donald is still working 12-14 hour days, hunting season is over, Joseph finally built his gaming computer, I am still working 8-12-16 hour days (but I LOVE it!).

Long time no see!!

Been a while since I posted so here is a quick update! Lot's of things going on...Pumpkin Patch, Copeland and COA photoshoot, Thanksgiving, Iron Bowl, Jennifer (my sis) is pregnant with her second child, Gracie and Chelle's birthday, working for all of us, school for Joseph, remodeling the house(hardwoods, new paint, crown molding, new furniture), decorating for Christmas, youth group, planning ski trip for youth, shopping for gifts, family in the hospital, Christmas parties, and braces for me again!! My friend Paulette posted this on her blog yesterday and I thought I would share it with you all! It is so true, the only reason's we have the freedom we have at this very moment is because of men and women, fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters that have chosen to be a part of our military forces and some have went a step further by giving their life to keep us free.

Thank you to all who have been a part of this fight to keep us free! May God continually bless you and keep you in his arms of protection!

Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock, did something not to be forgotten.
On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks out of her classroom. When the first period kids entered the room,they discovered that there were no desks. Looking around, confused, they asked,"Ms. Cothren, where are our desks?"
She replied, "You can't have a desk until you tell me what you have done to earn the right to sit at a desk."
They thought, "Well, maybe it's our grades." "No," she said.
"Maybe it's our behavior."
She told them, "No, it's not even your behavior."

And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom. By early afternoon television news crews had started gathering in Ms. Cothren's classroom to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room. The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the desk-less classroom, Martha Cothren said, "Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he/she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you."At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it. Twenty-seven U.S. veterans, all in their uniforms, walked into that classroom,each one carrying a school desk. The vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand,perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned.

Martha said, "You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now, it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens.They and others paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education.
Don't ever forget it."

Pumpkins!

We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday the 27th but we did not carve the pumpkins until Tuesday night...

This one was Alicia's...I think this was her 2nd pumpkin to ever carve...

Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat at BBC

I am not sure of the total for the event this year...last year we had over 500 people there...I am sure we had that many or more this year! It was fun to see everyone dressed up, the kids playing all the games, the food was yummy and there was plenty of candy to go around!

We had a costume party on Tuesday night...1st place went to the Number 2 pencil, 2nd place to the Scarecrow and 3rd place to Little Red Riding Hood. We also had a jar filled with candy corn 441 pc and it was one with a guess of 437.

Pictures from Bunco Babes Weekend!

We came back on Monday the 15th, we had a great time! This was the first time to the Shrimp Festival for everyone but LeighAnn. We shopped, ate some seafood (except Terri), great Italian from Franco's, played Rumicube (which is like rummy and dominos), make pictures on the beach. It was a great weekend, we hope that more of the group can go next year! It was really fun taking these pictures, we laughed had we had sand all over us! It was nice to get some shots of myself...Thanks Tracy!!
